From an emotional perspective, I would like to know your thoughts on my natal chart.

Your question is intriguing. 

Yesterday, while reading Marc Edmund Jones’s works, I found a highly relevant quote: “A horoscope is like the man it represents. It must be seen as a whole before any intelligent idea of its parts is possible.”[1]

We must consider the chart as a whole, observing how all the pieces interact to create a dance as unique as the person who brings them to life. It isn’t easy to separate the emotional profile from the other needs expressed in the natal chart. 

According to Maslow, the need for love is at the third level of his hierarchy, after the need for security. We spend a lot of time and energy satisfying these needs, and they often absorb our entire focus on life.

How can we understand the love needs manifested in the astrological chart?

It’s like cracking a riddle:

1. What is Venus doing?

• Venus is considered the Goddess of Love, and depending on the sign where she is found, she tells us how we need to satisfy our need for relationships, including love.

2. What is Mars doing?

• Mars reveals to us the type of energy we should apply to satisfy the needs of our ego.

3. What is our Moon doing?

• If we consider the Moon our reigning need. How do we need to nourish ourselves? The Moon has a primary role in defining the type of relationship that will satisfy us.

4. What are the rulers of houses 5 and 11? What are they doing?

• The 11th house in Cancer, ruled by the Moon in Libra, is a sign of Venus.
• The Moon is square with Neptune, the ruler of Pisces and, therefore, dispositor of Venus.
• Saturn rules the 5th house in Capricorn in his sign. He is the final disposition of the chart. Saturn is in trine to Mars and conjuncts the North Node and Mercury.
• Venus and Mars are in a square, in mutable signs and cadent houses.
• Although the Sun is a little far away, we see the trend towards a Grand Trine in Air.

There is a great need for love and a desire to be cared for and nurtured. But I get the impression that this is not the type of love that has been received up until now. 

In the birth chart, we see some self-protection tendencies. 

• Saturn is in the 5th house, 
• The Moon is square Neptune.
• The South Node with Chiron, both are in the 11th house. 
• The grand trine in Air suggests a need for self-protection. 

However, I feel that Saturn in the 5th house is used for protection more than anything else – “if I limit my expressions of love, I will stay safe.”

Unfortunately, we often push away what we most desire and feed negative narratives without realizing it.
