Every week, on the drive back after dropping off my grandmother, my dad and I would imagine trips to outer space, design spaceships in our minds, and wonder how our lives would be if we lived in outer space. These fantasy journeys sparked a special connection with the stars, and I would spend most nights looking up at the sky and wondering what impact the stars have in our lives.
Then, as an adult, I found Astrology, which opened my curiosity to explore how symbols manifest so differently for each of us, making us unique in the cosmos. Astrology shows us the possibilities of manifestation, and we embody them differently within our life’s circumstances.
Growing up in Mexico, the radio was always on - we lived around the radio. We listened to the news, stories, entertainment, politics, economics, and any topic. My favorite two were listening to the “NOTA ROJA / RED NOTE” recounting overnight crimes in the early news and the call-show of Psychiatrist Ernesto Lamoglia; it was like a window into a session. Both ignited my fascination with human behavior.
- What makes us do what we do?
- Why are humans capable of the most beautiful and horrific acts?
Well, I haven’t changed that much. I am still intrigued by human behavior, but I use Astrology as a tool of understanding. This has helped me see behavior in an objective context, to see things from different perspectives, not only the simple flat view of the world.
So, it’s not surprising that I discovered true-crime podcasts during the pandemic. As one of millions, I used my isolation to rediscover one of my favorite summer pastimes: jigsaw puzzles while listening to a new radio version -True-Crime podcasts! Now, they are my daily companions while I do my daily chores, making even the most tedious task a means to listen to something that piques my curiosity.
And I’ve noticed that as I listen, I am constantly filtering symbols through astrology, so I want to explore and merge these two interests.
I hope not only to understand the events better but also to practice a modality of astrology that I find fascinating—horary astrology—and maybe have something interesting for other Astrology and true-crime enthusiasts like me.
So, I’ll do my best while I bring to life a modality in which I am still a beginner. I hope you follow along with my growth and forgive my stumbles, which I am sure I’ll have many.
